Based in Portugal, we are happy to travel to Madeira and beyond to create photography and video that feel honest, elegant and full of life.
Hi, we're maria & jonathan
We are based in Portugal and work as a photographer and videographer team, capturing weddings and elopements together. We are travellers with more than 50 countries behind us, always drawn to nature, people and real stories. Madeira feels like a perfect mix of what we love most and we have visited the island and attended a workshop to better understand it as a wedding and elopement destination. It may not always guarantee comfort, but it does guarantee an unforgettable experience and extremely beautiful photographs that will help you relive your wedding exactly as it was.

Top spots in madeira
Stunning locations

Miradouro do Guindaste
A breathtaking viewpoint on Madeira’s northern coast, known for its dramatic cliffs and endless ocean views. It is an easy and accessible location that offers a powerful scenery without requiring long hikes, making it perfect for couples who want beautiful landscapes with a more relaxed experience.
funchal
Madeira’s capital brings a completely different atmosphere to your wedding or elopement story - elegant architecture, charming streets and a relaxed island lifestyle. It’s perfect for couples who want to combine nature with a more editorial, European city feeling in their photographs.
Fanal Forest
Image says itself, you can't find same place on the planet. You are literally in a cloud on a mountain, is often windy with temperatures usually around 5°C, so it feels cold year-round.
The constant wind moving through the ancient trees creates a dramatic, almost unreal atmosphere.
Proper shoes or boots are important because the ground is often wet, muddy and uneven.
Ponta de São Lourenço
Is a dramatic and wild peninsula with raw cliffs, volcanic rock formations and endless ocean views. For photography, it offers a powerful minimalist landscape where every shot feels cinematic, with light, wind and sea constantly shaping the scene.
Ribeira da Janela
One of the most iconic coastal viewpoints in Madeira, known for its dramatic rock formations rising from the Atlantic Ocean. Offers powerful compositions with strong lines and contrast colours.
Waterfall
A waterfall that flows directly into the ocean, surrounded by lush green cliffs is one of Madeira’s most unique postcard-like landscapes.

A few of our favorites
See what’s possible

Pico de arieiro
High above the clouds, this mountain location gives you a once-in-a-lifetime feeling. Sunrise here is especially unforgettable, but it can also get very crowded. For a calmer experience, we often recommend sunset instead.
What matters most here is visibility and your willingness to embrace the conditions. We have photographed here in misty, windy weather before - it was cold and intense, but our brave couple ended up with some of the most dramatic and unique images.
If you choose this spot, it’s important to stay flexible. Weather can change quickly, so we may adjust timing, switch locations or even return on another day to get the best possible experience and results.
Ponta de São Lourenço
One of the most dramatic landscapes on the island with raw cliffs, ocean views and endless light. It’s a wide area with different viewpoints, making it beautiful at almost any time of the day.
We highly recommend including this location because it is one of the most comfortable and accessible spots in Madeira. Many incredible viewpoints can be reached quite easily from the parking area, while still offering breathtaking and unique scenery.
If we had to choose only one location on the island for an elopement or wedding experience, this would probably be it - because of its variety, atmosphere and the overall experience it gives to a couple.
film madeira
This is more than a location for us - it’s a place where nature, light and emotion meet in the most powerful way. Madeira offers dramatic landscapes, ever-changing weather and a raw beauty that turns every moment into something cinematic.
We approach weddings here with a documentary eye, blending photography and film to tell your story as it truly unfolds. Nothing forced - just honest emotions, movement, and the atmosphere of the island itself.
Planning tips & FAQ
Why choose Madeira for a wedding or elopement?
Madeira is for couples who love nature, adventure and breathtaking scenery. It offers dramatic cliffs, mountains, forests and ocean views - all in one island. It is not about perfect comfort, but about a truly unique and unforgettable experience with extraordinary photographs.
Do you help with planning locations in Madeira?
Yes - we help you choose the best locations depending on light, weather and your vision. We also share our experience from visiting the island and attending a photography workshop there.
Do you offer both photography and videography?
Yes - we work together as a team so your wedding or elopement is captured in both photo and film, creating a complete and consistent story.
When’s the best time for a wedding or elopement in Madeira?
Spring and early autumn are often the most popular due to less tourist, soft light, lush landscapes and more stable weather. However, every season has its own beauty - from golden summer light to moody winter mountains.
What if the weather changes on the day?
Madeira weather can change quickly, but that is part of its beauty. We always adapt, move locations if needed, and use the conditions to create cinematic and emotional images.
How many hours of coverage do we need?
It depends on your plans. Elopements can be covered in a few hours, while weddings usually require a full-day coverage. We can guide you based on your timeline and vision. Though since Madeira is too beautiful to stick with one place and short photoshoot, you'll probably need at least sunrise and sunset sessions in 2-3 different spots.
Do we need a permit for photography?
For a wedding or elopement shoot (just the couple, handheld camera, moving freely in public spaces like viewpoints, roadsides or nature spots), it is generally allowed without a specific photography permit.
We would be happy to embark on that adventure with you, share our knowledge of the island, light, photography and videography, and do our best to create memories you will cherish forever.
